Since you're not telling us the camcorder, we can only guess that the tape is either MiniDV or Digital8 tape. Both devices use the same method - Firewire (not USB).
If your computer has a FireWire 400 port, hopefully it has an expansion slot so you can add.
Because you are not us computer that you can use, we do not know if you have a FireWire port or an expansion slot. USB is not supported for the transmission of digital video.
